ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF THE SENSE OF THE POEM “THE DEATH IN BEVERLY HILLS” BY PERE GIMFERRER

Abstract

The present work analyzes and interprets the sense of the poem “The death in Beverly Hills written by Pere Gimferrer. The study starts by supposing that poetry constitutes a ludic mechanism which has both a communicative and cognitive function. Our hy- pothesis is basically supported by Gadamer’s theory of the game, and it is complemented by the contribution of some other authors such as Alfonso López Quintás, Rafael Núñez, Iber Verdugo, to name a few.
