Abstract

The objective of this study was to describe the significant experiences of stress along with the resources used by students and university officials during the COVID-19 pandemic period. The answers were analyzed with thematic analysis. The results report that the main stress experiences reported by the participants were confinement at home, uncertainty, changes in daily routine, and reconciling work, studies, and family. These results persisted nine months later, and the feeling of stagnation and annoyance due to non-compliance with health protocols was added. The stressful events exposed by the participants were associated with the restriction to carry out funeral rituals, a decrease in income, and unemployment as a result of the pandemic. The main resources used were aimed at helping oneself and seeking social support.
