Abstract

The article discusses the spatial production of the Chilean northern border during the nitrate expansion cycle (1885-1930). This political-economical cycle modified the materiality of the Atacama dessert and it ́s border qualities. Issue that ocurred, we sustained with a Marxist perspective, through the transformation of specific naturalities, spatialities and geographies.
