Abstract

The following article aims at analyzing, critically, the “historical effects” (Wirkungsgeschichte) and the revaluation of the herme- neutical project of Friedrich Schleiermacher and Wilhelm Dilthey, especially their contributions to the understanding of the vital world as text. In the first place, the germinal context of their works and their influential philosophical positions in the nineteenth century; and, in the second place, the “historicity” (Geschichtlichkeit) of their thoughts and its consequences for contemporary hermeneutical reflection will be taken into account.
